The St. James Players

We are an amateur theatrical company, associated with St. James Church.  We practice and perform in the church hall.

Join the St James’s Players

St. James’s Players currently has nearly fifty members. Not all of them are actors – the Players’ success depends just as much on its backstage and front-of-house teams which work on stage direction, lighting, sound, set design and construction, special effects, costumes, make-up, publicity and ticket sales.

Our members range in age from sixteen to the over-eighties and the Group enjoys not only theatre work, but also a variety of other social activities. Sadly, you must be aged 16 or over to join the group, due to child protection legislation which requires chaperones at all rehearsals, licences for performances, and separate facilities for under 16’s which we are unable to provide.

We meet every Monday night at 8pm at St. James’s Church Hall, Bodley Road, New Malden and new members are always welcome to join us there, in order to meet us and get a ‘feel’ for what we do. We welcome new members. Those wishing to act in plays should note that there are often Wednesday evening, and occasional Sunday afternoon, rehearsals.
