Easter Parade

Not bonnets this year, but candles!

Last week we created our own Palm Crosses – this week we are asking you to get your thinking hats on and create your own Paschal Candle – a posh word for Easter candle!

A Paschal Candle is the very large candle we have in church – it is renewed every year at the opening of the Easter Vigil when a “new fire” is lit and blessed. The paschal candle represents the light of Christ coming into the world – the risen Christ overcoming all darkness and evil.

Be as creative as you like in your interpretation of the task – you don’t have to make your own candle – and you can decorate it or decorate around it. It can be any size of shape – it should have an Easter theme or say something about the times we are living in.

We loved your Palm Crosses and we can’t wait to see your candles!
