  • St James Players present “The 39 Steps” by Patrick Barlow, based on the novel by John Buchan and the film by Alfred Hitchcock – 12th – 15th October at 7.45pm.


  • Sunday 4th – Choir returns and normal service pattern returns
  • Thursday 8th -PCC
  • Saturday 17th- Parish Vision Afternoon 2.30-5pm in church
  • Sunday 18th – 9.30am – Dedication and visit of the Bishop with
  • Parish Breakfast after the morning service
  • 6.30pm – Festal Evensong.


  • Sunday 2nd – Harvest Festival – Cake Sale for Christian Aid
  • 9.30am – morning service suitable for all the family with Scouts and church parade
  • 6.30pm – Come and Sing Evensong for Harvest – rehearsals begin at 3pm
  • Wednesday 12th – Saturday 15th October-St James Players
  • Autumn Show “The 39 Steps”

  • Saturday 5th-Saturday 12th – Katie Away Annual Leave
  • Sunday 13th – Remembrance Sunday – marked in morning service (time to be confirmed as Katie will be leading the service in the High Street) and Evensong as normal
  • Saturday 19th – MU Barn Dance in the evening
  • Sunday 20th – The Feast of Christ the King
  • 9.30 am – Special Service celebrating the work of the MU –
  • 6.30pm – Festal Evensong for Christ the King
  • Sunday 27th – Advent Sunday
  • 9.30am – Family service to start the build up to Christmas
  • 4-6pm – Christmas Market
  • 6.30pm – Advent Carols with drinks and mince pies.


  • Saturday 3rd – Advent Quiet Day – 2.30-5pm
  • Sunday 4th – 6.30pm Blue Christmas – a reflective start to the season with a special focus on those who find this season hard (replaces Evensong)
  • Sunday 11th – 4pm – Christingle (replaces Evensong)

  • Sunday 18th – 6.30pm Christmas Carol Service (replaces
  • Evensong)
  • Saturday 24th – 4pm – Nativity the Panto
  • 11pm Midnight Mass
  • Sunday 25th-9.30am Christmas Family Communion Service
  • (no Evensong – Choir and Choir Director then off until Sunday 8th January which we will celebrate as Epiphany.)

Regular Services

  • Sunday
    • 8.00am -Traditional Said Holy Communion
    • 9.30am – Parish Family Eucharist with Choir and coffee served 6.30pm – Sung Evensong
  • Tuesday
    • First Tuesday in the month Evening Communion at 7.30pm.
  • Wednesday
    • 12 noon – Celtic Communion led by Mother Katie every week (15-minute service) in church, followed by lunch and an opportunity for chat or private prayer. You are welcome to bring your own lunch and eat in church or we have a menu you can order from. If you are experiencing financial hardship, please ask for ‘the Vicar’s special’ and order for free.
