Dear Parishioners and friends of Saint James,
I hope that many of you have missed reading our Parish Magazine but due to the lockdown we have been unable to publish it since the last issue for Match/April. It is a bimonthly magazine and we wish to keep the December/January edition on track so it means that the next time we publish is planned for the October/November number. Obviously our minds have been on other matters during this time and so we were rather short of articles in any case but I do hope that you will think about sending in some contributions for that edition from the beginning of August so that we can start planning. On this occasion please send them direct to me to file as the Parish Administrator will be very busy catching up with all other matters. My e-mail address is below.

It has been a worrying time for all over the past four months and a very tragic time for someone who has suffered a loss or still having someone diagnosed with COVID19 and we are all hoping that people are sensible enough to follow the guidelines. But I do think that this pandemic has brought a lot of people closer together as communities and those who serve on the front line in any capacity from the NHS, transport, Royal Mail and shop workers plus many others deserve our grateful thanks.
Under Mother Katie’s leadership we as a team have tried to stay in contact with people and have been involved in many other ways either through telephone, internet or post and I know that many have said how grateful they are to friends, neighbours and the Church for helping them get through. We hope that this positive community commitment will continue and our magazine would like you to think of posting some of your thoughts and thanks for what has happened during this time and which might go on for another number of months.
So – articles on holidays, trips taken, things you have learnt and done during the lockdown (perhaps you have learnt to play an instrument, written your life history, re designed the garden etc. Please let us know it could encourage others. Perhaps you could say how much you have missed the Church and all it offers. +
Looking forward to hearing from you and may God Bless you all.
Thank you
Editor: Father Clive Piggott
