Five weeks into our series of ‘Evensong at Home” services – we launch into the season of Trinity.

I am Director of Music at St James, and the music in this video is performed by four members of the choir who also happen to be part of my family!

We set up a little studio in my home office, which is a cabin at the bottom of our garden (I have a digital organ there), and sang everything from there. Mother Katie led the service, and two members of the congregation read the lessons. One of our basses acted as host of the Zoom meeting.

As the weeks go on, we are discovering lots of hidden gems for unison voices or reduced forces. Jonathan White’s poignant setting of the Nunc Dimittis and Alan Smith’s anthem using the words of the Trinity hymn “Holy, Holy, Holy! Lord God Almighty!” were particular favourites for me this week.

We hope you enjoy this week’s service!
